What is car detailing

Detailing Introduction

Detailing can have various different meanings to different people. Some just view their car as a transport from point A to point B. How you consider your car will determine how much you will take care of it. For some car owners, cleaning the car every week and waxing it once a month is enough. For others, their cars cannot just be “clean”, they need to be meticulously detailed. For others, their car is an expression of themselves, or even a work of art. Regardless of how you feel about your car, there are many benefits of detailing your car. This page is designed to introduce you to the general terms and processes of detailing.

What is car detailing?

Car detailing is the process of thoroughly cleaning the car and making sure that each part shines and looks like brand new. There are places where you can take your car for professional detailing, but if you have the patience, you can detail your car on your own for a much more affordable and enjoyable experience.
Before you start to detail the car, make sure it is in the shade, out of the rays of the sun. Obviously no one wants to work in the heat, but a lot of car care products perform better in a cool, shaded setting. If the car has been out for a drive, let it cool for about 30 minutes to an hour before you start to wash it. When you wash your car, always start from the top going to the bottom. It really won’t make sense starting from the bottom because when you get to the top, the dirt and grime will simply go down to the areas you already washed.
